The By Any Dreams Necessary Artist in Residence School Program places an experienced arts-educator in a public middle school during the spring semester. The goal of the program is to provide art education to students who attend low-resource schools that are unable to consistently provide art in their school day curriculum. By Any Dreams Necessary will provide funding for the program, including all art supplies and materials.
The artist in residence will provide instruction in one or more visual and performing arts (e.g. painting, dance, music) to all students. Additionally, whenever possible, the artist in residence will use art as a means to bring together the school-community, either by inviting school administrators, staff and parents/family members to participate in the art education process, or by participating in relevant school-wide activities.
