Monique is a bilingual educator who earned a BBA from Bernard Baruch College in International Finance and an Elementary Teaching Credential from San Francisco State University. She taught in urban schools in San Francisco before earning her M.Ed. at the University of San Francisco in Organization and Leadership. Monique’s belief in equal access to higher education for all students, and the fact that she is a product of the college preparation program ASPIRA herself, led her to work professionally in college access. She worked previously as an advisor and more recently as a manager for a Bay Area outreach program that assists underrepresented students to gain admittance to college. Monique passionately believes the arts should be a mandatory part of school curriculum, and be integrated into every classroom. Her own experiences have taught her art is a magnificent way to enhance traditional teaching methods and inspire students.
